Buzzer-beater is the worst way of losing basketball game. Is it lack of fortune? Could be.

But how to call it, when your team loses this way twice in three days?

Bologna basketball team was forced to end their season in incredible way. They lost 3-0 in the Italian quarter-finals to Sassari with two of the wins coming on buzzer-beaters.

First, it was Drake Diener hitting an incredible two-pointer at the end of overtime on Saturday. Sassari won the game 88-86 with Diener pouring 29 points with 9-of-17 shooting.

48 hours later, it was his team-mate’s Manuel Vanuzzo turn. His three-pointer buzzer-beater in Bologna won the game for Sassari 72-71.

Petteri Koponen led the winners with 21 points. Sassari will now play either Siena or Varese in the best-of-five semi-final series.

While Sassari will be fighting for the title, Bologna will be praying for more luck next season.
